Get Rid Of Stink Bugs
How to get rid of stink bugs is a question many people are asking these days. The stink bug invasion is in full force in the Northeast United States. This little pests have made their way from New York and North Jersey to as far south as Virginia already. Eastern Pennsylvania has been struck hard. If your home has been affected by this latest nuisance, you are fully aware of the trouble they can cause.
They get everywhere. You will find them in your drapes, windows, in kitchen cabinets, bathrooms, couches, EVERYWHERE! Just when you kill one, three more of his buddies pop up. Here are a few tips for dealing with the invaders.
If you have quite a few in the house already, get out the vacuum, or even better, the shop-vac. Sucking them up is a quick and easy way to remove them from your house. This works for both the living and the dead. Remember though, this is only a temporary solution if they have already found their way into your house.
Stink bugs are attracted to light. Be sure to turn off your porch lights and backyard lights when they are not needed. Also turn off lights in rooms at night when you are not in the room and need the light.
Seal any cracks you find near or around your windows, doors, chimneys, and siding. Silicone and silicone-latex caulk are the recommended methods. Search around your house for any other entrances that you may not think of readily. If they can find it, they will use it.
Now is the time to repair that damaged screen you have been putting off forever. Damaged window and door screens make an easy entrance for stink bugs.

It is not recommended that you touch stink bugs with your bare hands. Some people have been found to be allergic to the substance they emit. It is the same substance that gives them their name and that wonderful odor. Some species can also bite, but the bite feels like nothing more than a little pinch if it is felt at all.
Remember that using pesticides, although readily available, can be dangerous. Read the warning labels carefully and be sure to follow the directions precisely. Keep them out of reach of children and pets.
