Blue Star Flag display started with Captain Robert B. Quiesser, an Ohio National Guard Veteran in 1916 with designing the original flag. During WWII, VFW actively promoted the flag through window cards and the assistance of radio stations.
They are the Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc., whose members hang blue stars in their windows whenever their children join the armed forces, and soon it became a tradition to hang the Blue Star Flag in the window all over USA.
Blue Star Service Banners are displayed by families, who have a loved one serving in the armed forces including the US Army, Navy, Air Force, US Marine Corps, National Guard and Reserves of all military departments. The banner displayed in the front window of a home shows a family's pride in their loved one serving in the military, and reminds others that preserving America's freedom demands much. It can also be displayed by businesses and organizations as well, the tradition continues.

wot happend was at the time of 1947 india and pak partition... muslims got pak hindu's got remaining india and the sikhs were told if u stay with india we will give u equal rights and treat u's like brothers... so many promises were made by the congress and then after partition the sikhs never got wot they were promised and were treated very badly... then indira gandhi comes along 4 votes and makes the same promises and once she won the election she broke all them promises.. then a sikh leader sant jarnail singh ji bhindranwale (A SIKH SAINT) came along and openly challenged the congress and stood up 4 the sikhs and he got so much support 4rm the sikhs the government claimed he was a "terrorist" and issued orders 2 kill at sight.. the army attacked one of the most sikh holiest shrines 2 "finish of the terrorists" but so many innocent sikhs got killed that day coz the day they attacked was one of the busiest days and so many came 2 visit the temple dat day... they shot a missile at the gurdwara and it destroyed it 2 another level and killed bhindranwale... the army then claimed that next 2 none damage was done and hardly any innocent sikhs were killed just the "terrorists"... indira's sikh body guards then killed her and then riots took place were Rajiv gandhi issued out commands 2 finish off the sikhs.. so many innocent sikhs were burnt alive, tortured 2 death.. sikh women were raped and mistreated and even kids were killed.. sikh men were pulled off buses and shot and the police stood and watched it all and didnt even bother 2 help... its been 26 yrs justice hasnt still been done 4 the sikhs? y? so in a way i wuld say that indira wanted 2 suppress the sikhs and then rajiv gandhi wanted them finished off... bt there is political parties in india today who are trying 2 kill the sikh religion off by brainwashing sikhs and claiming sikhism is part of hinduism and that the sikh gurus are reincarnations of hindu gods... and it doesnt say this anywhere in the sikh religion so by all this info its shows how the sikhs were treated in india but also wot the political parties are up 2... c if u search the net and look at sum of the sikh websites u'll get soooooooooooooooooooo much info in regards 2 all dis..
