Diyas or floating candles look great as a centerpiece. Float fresh flowers or rose petals to enhance the beauty of the lamps. Put your Diwali leftover diyas to good use.

Use a freshly washed plantain leaf. Arrange it on a plate or a platter, and serve the vegetables or rice on it. If you are having a sit down dinner, you can serve in individual thalis. This looks very traditional, it is eco-friendly and looks appetizing. Artistically arranged food on a steel / brass thali makes for very pretty table décor. You could also cut the plantain leaf to the size of the thali, place it on the thali and arrange the food on it.

For a summer wedding with color palette of light orange (creamsicle-ish tone), ivory, and beige, what reception decor ideas exist if we want to save on costs and use the table cloths our reception hall is including (brocaded linen in ivory)? I plan to incorporate orange in the centerpieces but am not sure it will be enough color. I am concerned the white/ivory will wash out the main color orange when walking into the room. My bridesmaids have orange dresses and I do not want to clash either by having orange table linens (orange is a color with many different tones). Any advice or has someone worked with those same/similar colors?
That sounds really pretty! Have you ever heard of theknot.com? It is a wedding site and has a ton of ideas. You can view real weddings based on colors or season, and the weddings are really beautiful, the site doesn't post any tacky or trashy weddings! You could fill large glass votives with floating with candles and dye the water orange, I've seen it done with blue and it looked really nice, not tacky. Good luck!!
