Glass bottles come in varying shapes and sizes, and are used for a multitude of reasons. I put salt inside, then very hot water, to about 2/3 full, and shake it. The salt scrubs the interior. Then I rinse that out, and do it again a couple of times with hot water and some dish detergent made for working on grease (Dawn is good).
