Do I really need to change the filter in my refrigerator?
I hate to pay $35 for a filter. Is there anyway to clean the filter. Are there "generic" water filters? What will happen if I don't change the filter? Thanks!
There is no way to clean the filter. There are generics available. Go to the site below and enter the model number of your filter.
If you don't change the filter, the world will not end. However, depending on the quality of the water in your home, it may clog to the point that water will no longer flow through it. If you feel that your water is not that bad, replace the cap that came with your refrigerator. It attaches on where the filter is now and eliminates the need for it. Hope this helps.
