In 1979, Snowie was originally called Sno Shack, and the first 13 shacks were located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Creator Carl Rupp built his first stand out of cedar wood. He even invented his own ice shavers for the business. By the time he had set up 13 outlets around town and hired a crew of local teens as attendants, things started to get unmanageable. Luckily, other people had started approaching him with offers to buy a single shack and shaver to run it themselves. Where can I find the cheapest snow machine/snow gun?
I want a snow machine that can cover a lot of ground(a yard). Are there any that dont require freezing temperatures? I am looking for a real snow machine, not an ice shaver or artificial snow maker.
All snow making equipment operates on the prinicipal that if you shoot very fine drops of water into the air it will freeze and fall as snow. That is why ski resorts won't even think about making snow until the temps hit 25F. Even at 32F it won't freeze. 19F is the ideal temperature to make snow in my opinion. It's cold enough for good freezing but still warm enough to tolerate being outside dealing with water.
A chassis mounted Areco, Wizard, or Polecat gun would be what I would use. You need to have some 1&1/2 inch pipe fittings and a place to plug in high voltage line as well. You can't just plug these things into a wall socket and hook up a garden hose.
