Kitchen Decoration
Can anyone advise me on kitchen decoration?
I have been given some used but good condition country style light oak kitchen units and want to update my tiny kitchen.
The room measures 2.5m by 2m (I said it was tiny!) and due to windows etc can only be laid out in a galley style. Can I please have suggestions of colours for floor, worktops, tiles, paint etc to make this room look as modern and funky as possible. Am also on a budget of around £500! I can't change the doors as they are specific sizes so need advice on the rest of it, really!
Get new handles for the doors,something chrome/modern, they really lift kitchen doors! As for colours I dont know if your a warm or cool colour person,but if your cool like me what you can do to make it look funky & costly is buy a sq mtr of mosaic tiles,use them as a splashback right the way round,you can add bold colour this way,without compromising the feel of the size of the kitchen. Iv just purchased iridescent green mosaics from a company on ebay & i also bought solid metal tiles with glass insets to stick in here and there. Very expensive looking (well they would be in a shop,but for £50 I got 10 sheets of mosaics & 5 solid metal tiles) you can then keep everything else simple and light. I had the cheapest of the cheap white tiles all over and i just removed two rows to a splashback height to do it.
