How to Buy a Kitchen Knife Set

Which brands are the best?
Some good brands to look at are Wusthof, Henkels, and other brands aren't bad like Chicago Cutlery, Rachel Ray, Paula Deen, etc.
Kohls sells a Paula Deen set for $95.
Rachel Ray has a starter set for $85ish.
But I would suggest investing in a really good knive and then adding on from there if you need to. In my kitchen, I have a Wusthof classic knive block that I got for my wedding. I love all the knives, but I added onto my collection by buying a santoku knife and it is the only knife I ever even use. I never pull out the other knives. At bed Bath and Beyond it costs $70. Can you use a coupon? I know you're wanting a block. But this knife is under $100 and it's all I ever use. Might think about it...
