I looked on their web site, and there's about 15 different code numbers for "Standard Rodent Diet" lab blocks. Which is the best for my rats, and how do I know that?
Nevermind, I looked on the ARMCA website and they reccoment #8604... It's lower in cornmeal and higher in soy, which helps prevent cancer and tumors in (domesticated) fancy rats. Hope this helps someone else!
I also make my own rat food, I can't remember the name of the diet right now, but the commercial rat food has lots of things in it I don't like, and I give my rats fresh foods (fruit and veggies) every day. It's not like I'm ONLY feedng lab blocks. Thanks for not answering my question.
I personally dont agree with lab blocks for rats. Rats are very food orientated and to have the same block of food all the time must be boring. I use a rat mix that I make up myself, its called the suebee diet and is much more varied than lab blocks. Fresh fruit and veg is very good for rats and a lot of it can prevent tumours and have other health benefits.
