Lolita Lifestyle
When Lolita Dress dated from Japan, many girls were used to the Lolita lifestyle. Lolita lifestyle is generally dressing a fashion every day. People interact with the local Lolita community and they may engage in baking, sewing or embroidery. Some even insist on the ideal idea of a princess, surrounding themselves with charming things and adapt certain mannerisms, such as extremely polite or elegant.
In Lolita lifestyle, community interaction is an important part. In the community interaction, some colorful things are enjoyed by general fashion fans and Lolita fashion pursuits. Often local Lolita communities held some interested actions: such as picnic, visiting to museums, amusement parks, art galleries, and tea parties. Each action has its won specific guidelines and dressing rules. Although some people do not like wearing Lolita dress every day, they can take part in these actions with the Lolita outfit and manifest they can get much happiness in Lolita fashion.
It is said that the International Lolita Day is held in the first Saturday of June and December. Although the Lolita lifestyle is from Japan, it has swept through all over the world. It shows a twisted alternate civilization. Gradually, Lolita lifestyle has grown into several types, mainly the Sweet Lolita Dress, Gothic Lolita Dress, Classic Lolita Dress and Punk Lolita Dress. A Lolita Dress is often made up of knee length skirts and dresses, various head garment fashions, unique blouse and petticoats. A certain diversified appeal can be displayed with knee high socks, stockings, and dazzlingly high platform shoes.
With the development of Lolita lifestyle, many creative accessories are appearing, and compliment a wonderful Lolita appearance with them. These accessories had better be cute and fashionable with the boots, bags, and trinkets. This kind of fashion and particular accessories make the Lolita lifestyle popular around the world.
There will discuss the accessories carefully. A Cosplay Lolita can be created by petticoats, laced boots, undergarments, platform marry-Janes, and Sneakers. For a real Lolita lifestyle, marry-Janes are a necessity with a low heel or platform, and a beautiful pair of sandals. The hair and headdresses can be big bows, oversized hats.
If you are a fresh Lolita beginner, you can wear some a nice dress, a blouse and a piece of skirt with a pair of appropriate shoes and headpieces. Like this, you can get an ideal Lolita appearance.
You can also catch some attractive purse, boots, belts and jewelry to support your beauty.
If you comply with the rules of Lolita lifestyle, you can get a sophisticated, elegant, and intellectual appearance.

just a little more information- my school allows long and short dresses so it wouldnt matter and i wouldnt wear a long dress anyway idk i just dont like them
btw im not conforming. thats just my style i love japanese lolita/decora , scene, and emo fashion. i mean all i asked was if it looked good not to judge my life style :/
Now, just to clarify everything, there isn't such style as Japanese Lolita. Lolita Fashion is what it's called, and there are styles within the fashion, such as sweet lolita, gothic lolita, classic lolita, etc. There is a lolita style with Japanese influence called wa-lolita, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is new to the fashion since it's usually very hard to pull off, and there aren't a lot of places that sell them anyway (they tend to look costumish and cheap - real kimonos are terribly expensive).
I recognized that dress right away - it's by Alice and the Pirates (a label/collection by Baby, the Stars Shine Bright). It's a pretty dress (even more in real life), but personally, I think that there are other dresses suited for (semi) formal events like prom. Also, that's a stolen photo. Btssb and AATP's bigger items such as dresses, jumper skirts, skirts, and blouses, are always going to be in front of a red velvet curtain in their stock photos.

Sorry for being a buzzkill earlier, but I'd rather that you be warned now than later - it's not fun having to settle a pay pal dispute after dealing with a bad/fake seller.
If you want to wear lolita to prom, knock yourself out (I wore classic lolita to prom

sorry that it's not a great photo),
But as a veteran lolita to a new enthusiast, all I ask is that you wear it well - which means that you might need to do a little studying about the fashion and how to wear. It may seem a bit daunting - even discouraging, but with some knowledge, it'll make your shopping and wearing experiences much easier and enjoyable. ^_^

If you need to look for a review, ALWAYS check egl's memories section - if zero results come up, please use the search engine. And I say this because egl is a livejournal community that gets updated frequently in one day, and so, we would really appreciate it if the daily entries weren't cluttered with constant questions about reviews that might have already existed. =D
Anyways, good luck and have fun at prom!
