Promotional Mugs Vs Promotional USB Flash Drives
Two heavyweights in the promotional gifts sector at the moment are Promotional Mugs and Promotional USB Flash Drives. The mug is a seasoned performer that has been gracing the desktop, table and kitchen worktop for years and working tirelessly on behalf of the brand emblazed on it whereas the Promotional USB Flash Drive is the new kid on the block that's trying to steal its crown.
Choose the right promotional mug and its likely to get used several times a day and despite the punishment it'll take in the dishwasher it'll still bounce back time and time again to remind the user of your brand. Not only that but because we all like our tea/coffee mugs are associated with positive feeling which are by extension passed on to your brand.
From a practical perspective the large printable area on mugs gives you plenty of scope to get creative with your brand and strap line(s). There are also lots of styles to choose from including china mugs, earthenware mugs, plastic mugs, and glass mugs.
Mugs are also pretty inexpensive. Expect to part around £1 each for a basic china mug printed up with your logo when you're buying 1,000 + pieces.
By comparison entry level promotional USB drives printed up with your logo will come in at around £2-£3 each (depending on how much memory you want). Flash drives have a high perceived value and everyone from kids, to mums and business executives now use them as the de facto way to store and carry data around. As a business gift they are highly regarded and highly sought after but they come into their own at trade shows, press events and seminars where they can be loaded with lots of relevant files/brochures – something the humble mug can never seek to match.
So if you want a safe, established, some might say "dull" option and you have no need to supply the recipient with any data about your company then a mug is a great option. But, if you want something that will associate your brand with a "cutting edge" product, something high tech and something that has a high perceived value then USB flash drives are worth the extra spend.
