Hi- i'm baking a birthday cake tonight (shrek) and i was wondering can i paint on thinned green food colouring from sainsburys with a pastry brush without being streaky or does it have to be kneaded in - if its the latter - how can i do this?

You will get a better result by kneading, soften (or "plasticise") the fondant by hand on a chopping board or bench, make an indentation & drop a little of the food colouring into the hole - don`t dilute the colouring just add very little at a time kneading between each operation - remember you can always put more colour in you CAN`T take it out so slowly, slowly!!! It might help to put a little icing sugar on your board to aid lubrication
