Kitchen soap dispensers have been shown to eliminate up to 75% of the germs caused by a simple soap bottle. There are many pluses to having a kitchen soap dispenser in the house. It is hard to come up with a reason not to have a dispenser in the home.

These dispensers are inexpensive in initial cost and replacement, can be installed in a snap and are easy to use. They use a pumping motion to get the soap out. Most dispensers are designed so that only one pump action will extract the perfect amount of soap. Kids will love doing this, and may actually enjoy washing their hands from now on. No more forcing them to wash their hands before dinner!
Where did the mess go?! Wow, all of the sudden there is no mess! This is because the dispenser is very easy to operate, and leaves little room for error. If you install the soap dispenser somewhere permanent, it wont get knocked over. Stationary dispensers are very useful because if some soap happens to leak out, then it is only in one spot, and can be very easy to clean up.
What are the downsides? There are no downsides to using a soap dispenser. These are so easy to use, can save you money, are not messy at all, and can create a germ-free environment in the user's kitchen and bathroom. It would be very wise to purchase one. Quit using those old bottles or bars of soap!

Both, but mostly hard now.
I prefer glycerin soap more than anything, and I've recently started making some myself. It doesn't lather into a big bubbly lather like a lot of store-brand soaps with harsh detergents. It's more lotion-like instead, which is very moisturizing.
