Chronograph Watches to last through Generations
Ever since the invention of time pieces, man has been putting his brains at discovering new features and techniques in designing and creating watches and time pieces.
Geniuses came up with a technology that combines watches with stop watches. So came up the chronograph watches. Chronograph watches are basically watches that are used both to check time and as a stop watch. Chronograph watches come both as digital watches and analog watches. Digital chronograph watches display time and stop watch functions digitally. The display can be separate or the digital display could be incorporated in a single screen which could be switched as desired.
The analogue chronograph watches are similar to normal non digital watches where the time display and the stop watch displays are separate. UNIX - How do you make a stop watch script?
For my UNIX class in college i need to make a script that works as a stop watch so when you type start in the command line it starts and Stop makes it display the difference in time. My prof wants it to use the "Date" command for this.
I have no clue how to make it and need some help thanks.
(I know how to use emacs but only know very little about Vi but i probably wont have much trouble using it if i have to)
I wrote this script in ksh, though a very similar version could
be done for Borne shell or bash. In "sh", you would need to
use /usr/bin/expr rather than the built-in "integer" operations.
Here's a sample of running it:
