Celebrate Recovery - Time to rediscover a Difference
Celebrate recovery is a drug rehab center that is a Christ-centered 12-Step program which has laid the foundation in 1991 at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. It has now became active in more than 3,500 churches across USA and the world. The main goal to setup this center was to help people overcome addiction with a 12 step program based on Biblical teaching, more churches and prisons then implemented this program. According to wikipedia by March 2004 more than 150,000 people were said to have participated and U.S. President George W Bush had praised as Celebrate Recovery hearts" where government cannot. Celebrate recovery meetings is same as other 12 step programs the only difference is that this program is purely based on the principles of Christianity and believes in no higher authority other than Jesus. Another reason why Celebrate Recovery meetings is different from other's is that it does not require one to conform himself/herself to qualify oneself as an alcoholic, addict, or gambler to join this program. There are no specific requirements for membership. You can attend with a strong desire to work on the steps for healing with any type of hurts or hang-ups or habits.
It basically works on an episode of bible when Jesus taught the Sermon on the Mount, where he had stated "Eight Ways to Be Happy". These are called Beatitudes today. On a practical viewpoint if you see most of these statements don't look ironic. They sound like complete contradictions, but as one fully understands the core meaning of what Jesus is saying, then these eight principles will look like God's road to growth, recovery, wholeness and path of complete spiritual maturity.
In this recovery program all types of hang-ups, hurts and habits are addressed. Unlike other recovery programs it does not only deal with alcohol or drugs or any other single problem because Celebrate Recovery is like a "large umbrella" under which you can deal with unlimited issues.
This recovery program works on the biblical truth that is we need each other to grow emotionally and spiritually. It is made of small group interaction and a caring community's fellowship. Not like other therapies, counselors, and growth programs that are based on one on one interaction. But Celebrate Recovery works on the New Testament principle that we don't recover by ourselves
we all need each other. The two important components of spiritual growth are fellowship and accountability.

I believe in and try to follow Christian teachings, but have much more respect for the Jewish Rabbi, why?
is that so? I think it is because the Rabbi sticks to the message and does not compromise evil. What are your thoughts and feelings? You do not see a Rabbi on TV begging you to help finance his ministry, or selling you his book, tearing his shirt up after a closed closet prayer and with a box top and substantial donation send a prayer cloth from it to you! He would have you believe that that shirt was able to by a miracle divide like the fishes and become an unlimited supply to meet the request and demands of thousands! By compromising with evil they have watered down the Gospel. I often see where the church will allow for the kids sake, the fall celebration of Halloween with it's goblins, witches, and ghouls into the hollowed halls of their worship place
You are right! People have used Christians faith for their own fortune! I don't know agree with it but what can we do.
