My friend is going to throw out his computer monitor and hard drive, however it still works perfectly fine. He thinks that a person may just take it and use it (its not unusual for that to happen in our area). So he wants to erase absolutely everything from his computer leaving no traces behind. go to the killdisk website and download the killdisk iso, make the cd , set in your bios boot from cd rom 1st boot save then power down computer after leaving killdisk in drive, start computer,and follow instructions, pick the entire drive and kill the drive.
once that is done, you will have erased alll data from the drive never to be restored again since killdisk does a low level format by writing zeros to every sector of the drive
