Willow Tree Figurines Gaining Much Popularity
Figurines add a touch of personality to your home. They come in all types and forms from animal figurines to crystal dragon figurines. Not only do figurines add some spice to your home but many people collect figurines as well, including myself. One of my favorites are the Willow Tree Figurines created by Susan Lordi. The Willow Tree Figurines are relatively new to the figurine scene, but they are gaining much popularity. The Willow Tree line of figurines was launched in 2000 without any textile mediums used at all. The first 16 figurines, which were angels and a couple nativity sets, were all hand crafted by Susan Lordi. Actually, all the Willow Tree Collectibles are first crafted by her hand, and then it is reproduced with loving detail by DEMDACO.
The figurines are pretty simple, with faceless expressions. Yet, they are very powerful at conveying specific emotions - through the body language of the figurine. These figurines are gaining much popularity and are quickly becoming a valuable collecting item. Some of the figurines are retired and becoming hard to find. How long does it take for a willow tree cutting to take root?
I've had some twigs that I cut from a Weeping Willow tree that I've put in water.. not crowded, glass half full... for about 10 days and they still haven't developed roots. What should I do differently? Do they need sunlight? ( I've had these indoors until yesterday and the weather is finally warming up.)
The twigs need to be from the semi woody section of the limb. The tender branch tips will likely not root. Only the bottom one third of the cutting needs to be in water, and rooting hormone helps but is not a requirement. You also absolutely need to change the water every day or so. If not it will turn rancid, the bottom of the cutting will turn brown and the bark will slip off---start over time. Yes, sunlight will help and as someone else said, be patient. Ten days isn't too long and if you are doing everything right you should start to see little roots very soon.
